Valdo Malaq

Choreographer, dancer

Valdo Malaq began his training in São Paulo in the training project for boy dancers- ABAMBA (Association of Benefactors and Friends of Boy Dancers-Actors), with classical ballet, contemporary, free dance, musicalization, circus techniques, theater, visual arts, history of Dance, communication techniques, vocal education and anatomy, and as a member of the group Os Meninos do Barão. He then specialized in aerial acrobatic circus techniques, body expression, physical theater, clowning, as well as in stage technique and safety of circus and theater, at the Cultural Space Semente, Paralá dos Anjos Circus Company.

In 2008, he joined the Amazonas Corps de Ballet, where he is currently a dancer, and occasionally choreographer (ballets Nego dito, Habitante da Noite…) until today. He has danced for Ivonice Satie, Beto Regina, Paula Sales, Jorge Garcia, Fernando Alonso or Mário Nascimento, among others, participating in all the International Dance and Opera Festivals of Amazonas.

In 2014, driven by a strong creative need, he founded his dance company, Momento Cia. De Dança, creates his shows Pietà (2014), Momento (2015), O Caminho se faz ao Caminhar (2016), and wins the Manauscult Prize for Ocupação Artística.

He participated in the Babel Press report Les nouvelles amazones broadcasted by French TV TF1 in 2017, visually interpreting the rhythm-space harmony of Isabelle Sabrié with his company: 4 dancers on the stage of the Opera of Manaus, on the sounds of 4 percussionists spatialized in the floors, directed by Marcelo de Jesus.

In 2021 he founded the first choreographic principles adapted to rhythm-space harmony music in 5.1 surround, with the creations of Multipolart.
